Moving a terminal to another register

The following directions will detail how to move a terminal from one physical POS to another.

  1. Log into the the office and click on the Admin menu.
  2. In the search box, type "device" - you'll see "device / register list" - Select this option.
  3. You will now see a list of the registers in your store.  
  4. First, select the register where the credit card terminal you would like to move is currently in use.
  5. Scroll down the page until you see "PAX Destination IP"
  6. Write this value down or highlight, right click, and select copy.  
  7. Once the value is written down or copied, clear this box, then click save at the top of the screen.  The result is this POS will not longer have a credit card terminal assigned.
  8. Close the current tab, then browse to the register where you wish to move the credit card terminal.
  9. Scroll down and once again find "PAX Destination IP".
  10. Remove the current value in this box, and replace with the value you have written down, or right click and select "Paste" to paste the copied value.
  11. Confirm the value is correct, and once again click save.  The result should be the IP address of the credit card terminal from the originating POS is now saved to the new POS.
  12. The last step will be to wait about a minute then close your Cloud Retailer POS application, and reopen so the terminal location will reload.  
  13. Run a test transaction to verify the terminal is responding as desired.  Void the transaction after everything has been confirmed.
